Backing boards are made from the same quality mountboard as the mounts, acid-free white-core board, 1.4mm thick.

The backing board works to stiffen the wrapped mount and adds some protection to the artwork from potential damage from behind.

The backing board can also be used to fix the artwork to by using certain hinging techniques.
